About Me

My name is Boniface Kinyanjui, I am 21 years old. Born and raised in Murindati village, in Kagunda location. I studied in Murindati primary school, St. Gabriel secondary school Lanet and currently am studying my degree course in JKUAT Pwani University. I am taking Bsc. food science. Life was not that easy being born second in a family of five, my parents are peasant farmers and they could not give us a life that was very enjoyable, being sent home for school fees time after time in secondary school but occasionary I managed to win bursaries from well-wisher since I immerged to be the best student in my secondary life. In my second year I got an idea of starting a business that would cater for my expenses in university and partly my school fees. I started a café where I would cook chips during the long holiday and sell them to the students. Thing are very manual since I use fire wood which is tedious, time consuming and inefficient. I would like to buy an electric cooker for deep frying them. In our culture a man is the bread winner and this acts as a motivation for me to work hard in everything that i do. I love chatting and making new friend, and also loves travelling.

My Business

In the cafe that has now run for the last 20 months I sell the following food stuff:
• Chips
• Pilau
• Smokies
Neighboring the university the food stuff are very crucial to the students as they are cheap and affordable. Due to the high number of students these food stuff are in high demand. Therefore, these propelled me in starting this business.
• I pay the following bills and rent on monthly basis:
• House rent 7000 KES
• Electricity 2500 KES
• And a business permits of 4900 KES annually.
I use the profit to pay my school fees and my personal upkeep, supporting my younger siblings and some I reinvest.

Loan Proposal

Dear Zidisha team thank you for accepting my application to join Zidisha Inc.
I will buy an electric cooker that will expand my business. It will help me upgrade the cafe increasing efficiency of service to my customers. This will increase my profits by about 80 US dollars monthly.
I will use my profits to repay the loan, business expansion, paying my fees and charity works
