About Me

My name is Athanas Juma. l was born in Mwatate sublocation, Taita County, Coast province in Kenya. I'm the second born out of seven children. I got both my lower and higher education in the village.
Life was hard those days because at times, we could survive with just a single meal a day. Sometimes l could miss my classes due to unpaid school fees. During holidays, I had to do some unpleasing jobs to atleast earn something and assist my parents in buying food.
After school, I joined a local technical college and took a Tailoring course for two years. On completion, I came to mombasa city and stayed with my brother in aplace called shanzu. After consulting my brother about doing something, My Dad bought me a manual sewing machine. I immediately looked for a place and by goodluck igot ashop andbegan my business five years ago. lt's running upto date and during my free time, l enjoy watching football on a nearby playground and also on televisions.

My Business

My business is situated in Majaoni along Karisa Maitha road which is a small village in Shanzu. My business deals with all types of clothes. I make new clothes and as well repair the used ones. l also make curtains and bedcovers for houses and appartments.
My business is very important to the community in the sence that people are to wear clothes in the most part of their lives. The prices are reasonable and affordable because l make clothes bearing in mind that everyone needs to cloth themselves. So there is something for every class of life.
After working tirelessly, l do get some profit which l normally use for my upkeep and also send some money back home to help my Mum and siblings but nothing to boost the stock.
l love my business and l beleive that with Zidisha, it will start growing after remaining stagnant for all those years.
GOD BLESS YOU.

Loan Proposal

Hi Zidisha and Lenders, I intend to use the loan this way;-
3000 KES wil be used in buying some fabrics. It will be easier for me when I have the fabric ready in shop. I will save quite some money which is normally used oftenly as bus fare to and from the shopping centre to get the materials.
The remaining 479 KES will be used to buy different colours of threads to use in stitching the clothes.
