About Me

My name is Mary Njeri Wanduma. I am a single mother of two children, aged 7 and 12. I went to Mwiyogo Primary School in my village but, due to poverty, I couldn't continue with my education despite being the best student in class. Today, after eighteen years of struggling, I have all the reasons to thank the Lord because I was able to join a private education centre and receive my secondary education. I am now looking forward to attending university--hopefully next year (2017)!

I am committed and focused on my vision to eradicate poverty with your help. I come from a humble family background under my parents who are also Christians. We attend the One Rock Restoration Church here in Mawanga Center.

I live at the Mawanga Estate near Kenya Industrial Training Institute {K.I.T.I} in Nakuru County. Thank you!

My Business

My business is about 10 miles from where I reside, and I use public transportation for my daily commute. I currently buy broken glass and I employ youths to collect and transport the glass to a recycling factory. It might seem cumbersome, but it has created jobs for our local youths while benefiting the environment. Sometimes, it's not about how much money we make, but the smile we give to the less fortunate when they have food on the table. This loan will to enable me to buy gloves, gumboots, and dustcoats to enable us to work safely. The business monthly net profit is fifteen to twenty thousand ($166 - $222 USD) per month. With this, I'll be able to repay the loan, pay for my children's education, and reinvest in my business as it expands. I'll be able to employ more youths, which also improves security in our area. It is my humble prayer that my loan proposal will be accepted. Thank you and God bless you all.

Loan Proposal

I will apply this loan to enable me to replace the worn out gloves and protective boots to create a conducive working environment for my employees. We have improved our working systems, and this will enable us to repay the loan comfortably as we look forward to go to the next level.
