I am Margaret Adhiambo Ochung , a Kenyan born 35years ago in Seme Kadero Village, Kombiso Ward, Kombewa Location , Seme Constituency of Kisumu county. I attended Olbonata Primary then proceeded to Muthaiti Girls’ Secondary School in Nakuru, but dropped out in form two due to financial constraints. Thereafter, I went to Nairobi staying with my uncle then joined Y.M.C.A next to University of Nairobi for Lawn Tennis Training, where I trained for six months. I am married with one child who is in primary school and staying with my family at Uhanya Beach in Siaya County.
I joined Dressmaking course which I graduated in Tailoring and Designs ten years ago. I then started my own business (Kerry Fashions & Design) in 2007, which am running to- date. I also trade in fish business as we live by the lakeside. Both businesses are doing well, but I still lack finances to grow then bigger. However, I have managed to cater for my personal needs and able to support my spouse in raising our young family. On average I get daily profit of Ksh. 1,500.00 from fish selling and Ksh. 1,000.00 from fashion & Design, this translates to Ksh. 75,000.00 per month. After paying my bills which includes electricity, labor, School fee, etc. am left with Ksh. 25,000.00. However, I aspire to change the lives of others by training 10- 20 young girls and boys who may not have the privileges to pursue their carriers due inevitable circumstances. To achieve this, I need financial support thus joining Zidisha will enable me achieve this goal.
I have been doing tailoring business for the past seven years, due to my neat work I have attracted many customers; however my major challenge is inadequate funding to meet my customers demand. I want to buy materials for school uniforms which will cost around $120. I have accumulated some savings from the down payment given by my customers so this loan will help me acquire the needed materials.
The most important thing in any business is meeting customers target and the value of the product so I believe with this funding I will satisfy my customers demand. So am appealing to you to assist me raise this loan, and I promise to repay soonest possible.
