About Me

my name is kevin Gitonga 32 years of age from nakuru kenya.i was born in a family of 10 and I am the last born.Iwas born to a farmer .my childhood was a bit turbulent but I overcame the challenges of living in a rural area where most resources were channeled in building the family. However I did not loose hope i finished my o level with flying colors and had hopes for a better future. I was always optimistic and always was having the opinion that even despite everything my dreams of becoming a great entrepreneur.emulating my father I decide to go into the business of farming because this is what I saw him do since i was young.the unique thing about the land i live is the warm reception from the people who live there.they are very good people who love visitors.my children want to be business people like me when they grow up although one wants to be a a lawyer.my hobby is sky diving though i do it twice a year.

My Business

I am mainly deal with Rhodes hay that I plant to sell to dairy farmers.the hay that i grow serves many daily farmers who dont have land to plant or have many cows to feed and what have seen is that demand is always high than what can supply.i choose this kind of business because it makes me feel fulfilled when farmers get hay for their cows and at the same time I make money and its well paying because I have a passion for it.most of my costs are hiring tractors, paying few people who run errands in the far and also buying seeds. I use the profits to pay school fees for my kids ,ensure the business runs and save the rest. I love what I do and can do it over and over again. When demand is high I normally buy a bail at 150 kenya shillings and sell at 250 Kenyan shillings. The demand is normally very High especially this season when we have no rains.

Loan Proposal

When i get the loan i will invest in buying rhodes grass seeds that are high yielding and certified by the ministry of Agriculture. I will buy the seeds and plant in my farm in The month of March when we expect the Short rain. This loan will help me a long way in growing my business.
