About Me

I am a loving mother of two daughters. I come from a humble background, comprising seven family members. I am the second-born in our family, married for three years before the passing away of my great husband. My parents have been farmers for decades. They own almost 10 acres of land, on which they've planted coffee, as well as maize and potatoes. From this, they've been able to pay school fees for all my siblings, and also mine. I schooled at Kabare High, which is located in Central Kenya. I got good grades, scoring a mean grade of B+. I was able to enroll into university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. I am planning on undertaking and completing a Master's program in the same.

My Business

On completing university, I got an internship at Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). Aftre six months, I got my first official job in the same parastatal. I worked there for almost two years, before leaving immediately after my husband's death. He left me about six and a half acres of land. My home is located close to that of my parents, lying in the same region. This region has favorable climatic conditions, conveniently suitable for coffee planting. I studied the coffee industry to be quite a great opportunity, and decided to take on it, especially instead of leaving this land unattended to. This has been my main source of income for about three years now. I pocket about 5,000 Kenyan Shillings every week, which is equivalent to $45 dollars. I also have a side hustle- a coffee house which is ran by my close sister. This leaves me with almost $60 as my total weekly earnings.

Loan Proposal

My siblings, children and I get quite a lot of coffee from my land. I am forced to limit this amount since I don't have any means of storage. On harvesting the coffee during the morning hours, I transport it to the factory for sale. I will use this loan to buy storage facilities for the coffee harvested and taken every day. This will cost approximately $70. This loan is about 80 percent of the much I need. However, I will source the other 20 percent from my friends and siblings. Having some means of storage will be of much help, enabling me to store as much coffee as I want, before transporting it for selling. In turn, this will increase my earnings, which I predict to be doubled. I will use my weekly earnings to pay this loan, ensuring to complete it within 1 month.
