My Name is Samuel Njoroge Karanja, single in status and 32 years in age. I live in Ruiru, Kiambu County a place that I love. I have an O level certificate and a Diploma in social work and Computer hardware solutions. All my life, I have loved to work harder in order to eliminate if not completely kill this disease called poverty. I ventured in business with an aim of improving myself and creating an ability to cater for life’s challenges. It feels good to be independent and not to have to bother people for survival, hence the desire and the step to venture into the business world. I also desire to give my children the best and as a result believe in not only working hard, but smart as well. My business is situated at the Northern bypass, Kiambu road.

I sell mobile phone accessories; do soft computer graphics and computer repair /software installations. I also sell and stock portions of paper printing materials. My business has a good customer turn up bringing the basic profit to about $500 a month. The initiation of urban development program which has made it possible to construct highways has been of significance to my business, hence the realization of the growth which am experiencing today. The huge challenge am facing though is to have to cope with the big rent for my business since business premises in the urban are quite exhausting and involving at the same time.

My Loan Proposal
I first wish to thank zidisha organization for such a program as this. With the loan, I am planning to expand my business by being the number one paper printing supplier in my town where people have been making trips to the city’s capital just to access and buy this precious commodity at comfortable costs. Many schools are in my area and I plan to take advantage of this idea so as to make the most of it by growing my business the more. I also plan to purchase a capable GRAPHICS COMPUTER which is MY NUMBER ONE PRIORITY with the loan money one that can handle great graphics so that I may be able to meet the growing demand of customers who need artwork. Surprisingly enough, people from my area have to travel all the way to the capital city to have their graphics done for them which of course requires able PC’s to handle quality graphics. This to me has come as an opening for me to use and move my business to another level. The cost of a good computer capable of handling graphics (CPU alone) goes for $50. With this able computer, I am sure of the ability to purchase the paper materials and begin building good stock as I continue supplying.
