About Me

My name is Martin Mwaniki. A father to a beautiful baby girl. I am a carpenter by profession. I have a small shop in Utawala in Nairobi where i have employed two people to assist with work. I have worked as a carpenter for 5 years, i have closed the shop twice due to lack of funds. I reopened after being loaned by relatives, now business is good.

My Business

I build tables, chairs, tv cabinets, shoe racks. I also do wooden repairs where needed. The demand is high because everyone uses this products in there houses and places of work. I chose this line of work because my dad was also a carpenter in our rural home and that is where i learnt this craft.
I buy wood at $4 per meter depending on the order i have for making specific items. I then sell chairs from between $10 to $15. Tables $20 to $50, TV Stands and cabinets go for $30.
I pay rent with the profits and daily expenses

Loan Proposal

Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity. I wish to buy more wood for building furniture. I have a contract for supplying wood to local carpenters so it will help in adding stock for the same
