My name if John Otieno Ogendo who was born in the year 1976 in a family of six; two girls and four boys. In this huge family, I'm the forth born.
I went to primary and after completion, I began my secondary education up to form two but due to financial constraints, I thought of what to keep my life on the go. This, also was not easy forcing me to beg for sponsorship from my relatives though I never knew what I wanted to do. For this the decision to train as a carpenter convinced my intellect and for this, a relative accepted to lend me a hand and I'm grateful.
So, to date, I am one of the best carpenters in Rangwe and the neighborhood.
I make wooden commodities like: tables, chairs, cupboards, school desks e.t.c.
The goods are on demand since everyone uses them everywhere from the households to offices. I would like this to continue growing and that is why Zidisha is my source of success.
My first loan showed me that going forward is enabled by hard work and determination. It was a good start as confirmed by the repayments I made showing my interest in having you as a helping hand.
My dream as a carpenter is reaching a level where I can make my ready-made items so that customers that are not patient enough can also get served.
Creating employment opportunities of other youth is also vital. These are just but a few things on the way making a bright future for me and others.
Thanks.
