About Me

I sat for my KCSE in 1992 fro chavakali high school.
I preceded to Jomo Kenyatta university for civil engineering. achieving this far in education was not easy because of the many court cases and domestic violence from my father that are still ongoing for the last 40yrs.
I have worked and rose to management position. Im also a church leader.
I currently have a cereal shop in ongata rongai. I stay along kimani road off magadi road 100m opposite ongata academy entrance gate -just 20m from the Nkaimurunya chiefs office. on plot no 5884
. I was informed of Zidisha thro my nephew who is also a member.(philip musau)
I have 10yrs experience. It all started in 2005 by door to door selling. I later on opened a shop in ongata rongai along magadi road opposite total petrol station trading as kisima outlets in 2013.
my main objective over the years was to get an order to supply that runs throughout the year. This makes me confident to take a loan instead of relying on the customers who are seasonal here in ongata rongai.
In 2014 I got an order to suppy Kamili Packers Ltd- 10,000kg of yellow beans for a start.I failed to obtain funding from my bank within the validity period of the LPO.
In January 2016 I secured another request from a leading supermarket to supply 50bags of beans per month. I was subjected to a test supply order of 20bags for approval and conforming in line with the stands. The results came out in April and was shortlisted as supplier no21. In June my bank declined to offer me a facility because my account was not active. They refused to honor my mpesa accounts which used to be valid in 2015. The mpesa acount was good(USD 14,000 in 6 months). Banks are are found in urban centers; but in rural areas, farms and across border where we always get cereals Mpesa is a convenient mode of transaction.
I hope to receive a response from Zidisha like yesterday.

My Business

I sell cereals. variety of beans , green grams, rice cooking oils, corn. these items move.
I choose this business because I know where to get cereals cheaply according to seasons throughout the year. I've been in this business for the last 10yrs. I have data as far as east and central Africa.
The order is to supply 5000kg of beans per month to the supermarket. This fetches a minimum of usd 1.1/kg during high season and a maximum of usd 1.2/kg depending on the season within the year.
Its economical to purchase a track load of 125,000kg so as so save on the transport costs that depend on the haulage distance.

the cost of one kg buying = usd 0.72/kg
transport per plus handling = usd.03/kg
sorting and cleaning = usd .04/kg

fumigation =usd 0.004/ kg
storage and bills = usd 0.03/kg
additional charges = usd0.006

cost of per kg production =usd0.803/kg

cost of production for the monthly 5000kg = usd 4,015

seling price after delivery@ usd1.14/kg = usd 5,700

net profit per month = usd 1,685

to purchase one almost one truck of 120,000kg will cost = usd 96,360

I would like to grow to this and beyond.
I have colateral as security.
thank you
