About Me

My name is Hesbon Korir,I am married ,with 4 children. I was the second to the late Mr.Leonard Korir and Mama Ether Korir. I did not,my childhood was characterized with lots of hardship because I come from poor background. I attended Longisa primary school and then Butere Boys . After completion I joined Eregi TTC to study ,teaching. I later got a job with the government but the salary was not enough to take care of my needs.
I wanted to further my education but had no money to do so. I decided to start keeping poultry to help me raise the fee.I took a bank loan of $300 in 2013 and constructed a poultry house. I then stocked 100 broilers. They grew so fast and since I had not looked for market prior I made huge losses but learn t one great lesson- to always know you market before farming. I currently keep turkey, goose and chicken in my farm.
I come from an area where most youths have indulged in alcohol and I am so sad about it. I usual talk to a few I meet and give them two chicken to start, with. Some have succeed while some are deep in addiction.
All my four children want to be pilots when they grow up,they seem to be so much interested in mathematics .The eldest is the role model for others.
I do a lot of social work, working with the youths and providing guiding and counseling to the community in various issues affecting their lives.

My Business

I do poultry farming , I keep poultry for meat and eggs.I keep turkey, goose and chicken in my farm. I sell them mainly to hotels. The demand for poultry and poultry products has risen in the recent past due to growing population . Hotels make order for the turkeys and I deliver on weekly basis.
I choose poultry farming because it is easy to manage and it is also profitable.
I spend $300 on feeds and immunization of the 300 different birdsI have currently. My monthly revenues on average is $500 per month.
I use the profits to pay fees for my children and siblings and save for farm expansion and improvement.

Loan Proposal

hello lenders ,please help me raise a loan so that I can buy a chain link wire that I would use to fence off my farm to protect the birds from theft and predators. I lost one male turkey last week and these was a very big loss. I intend to stop any further loss and have already bought fencing posts.the loan will be very helpful to me .thank you
