About Me

I was born in a village known as Simat in Uasin-Gishu County, Kenya, where I attended community primary school and later proceeded to a national secondary school. I completed my college learning in Nairobi in 2014 December. During my primary school studies, I had fee problems since I came from a financially struggling family. I started operating a small tree nursery of 1000 tree seedlings per season of which I sold each seedling at KSh 5. I used the money I raised from the project to pay partly for my school fee and to buy uniforms and textbooks. This helped me to pursue my education smoothly.

My Business

TOMATO FARMING
I grow tomatoes as a business. Tomatoes are in high demand due to my farm's proximity to Eldoret town which has approximately 1.2m residents. I chose tomato farming because of my passion for farming and the high returns. I use approximately 700 USD for planting and general crop care until harvest per season. Upon harvest, I get a profit of approximately 400 USD per season. I partly use the profits I get for payment of school fees for my siblings and the rest I reinvest in other businesses.

Loan Proposal

I will buy 1sack of chick mash for new 50 broilers that i bought at 30$ and another sack of layers mash at 28$ also i will buy vaccine at about 3 dollars. This will help me get more production and hence get more profit. With enough feeds i expect egg laying to improve to 98 per cent from the current 80 percent hence increase in profits by close to 18 percent.
