About Me

I am a 26 year old Kenyan Citizen from Thika, Central Province. I am the first born in a family of three. I am a trained Chemical analyst with a diploma in Analytical Chemistry from Thika Technical Training Institute.
I rear rabbits. I choose to start the business after clearing my high school education in 2007. This was after acquiring the skills from our Agriculture club in school. (Chania High School).
I purchase rabbit feed and hay with my monthly earnings from the lucrative business in Kenya.
A kilogram of rabbit meat costs a minimum of Ksh. 500.
This is a very booming business in Kenya and I hope majority of the youth would engage in it for us to be able to satisfy the very demanding market.

My Business

My business is based on rabbits for meat. I keep rabbits at our home on a rabbit house. I currently have 10 adult rabbits. 3 male and 7 female. I have just sold the small rabbits each at a cost of Ksh. 1000 as they are high breed.
There is demand for white meat especially rabbit meat in Kenya because of its nutritional value. In Thika alone, there are not much people keeping or rearing rabbits. This makes us, that is me and other few people have pressure to satisfy the growing and demanding market.
The risks involved include diseases and fluctuating weather which affects the rabbits.
Apart from the rabbit business, I will use my monthly salary also to cater for the loan. I work at Kenyatta University - Kitui Campus hence repaying the loan will be at ease with me.

my loan is in arrears i have been in a financial challenge because the loan you gave me last i never invested the full amount most of it was used to settle the service fee which i have to pay for each loan i will be taking , i planning to settle all the the due loan by friday after i have sold some of the chickens that has matured.

the new hatch i built is able of handling 50 chickens an 40 rabbits after renovating it with loan you gave and i look forward to increase the production further i also incur some expenses on medication, of which loan catered for that.
