I was born and raised in the county of Kisumu in Nyanza. I attended school normally as my parents were well able to pay the school fees and provide me with the basic needs a child would require. I finished my High school and attended the Maseno University for my bachelors degree in Business Admin. Later after i finished my internship moved to Nairobi where i worked as a supervisor in a private firm. Three years ago the firm was closed and jobs lost so with the little i had saved i decided to start a chicken business. As i have observed over the three years i have been in this business, from where i come people love to eat chicken alot. I would like to see my children become farmers like me or Engineers. Am a football fan. i love reading , i love swimming and travelling.
I am a farmer of chickens. I breed and sell the chickens for a living. Right now i have over seven hundred well grown up chicken ready for dispatch. This goods are in demand as it is a source of food and delicacy that almost all enjoy. I choose this kind of business because it is highly profitable and the demand is way out of line. I supply quite a number of hotels within the cbd and kitengela on a regular basis. That i at times run less in stocks. I spend about 200usd to buy a 70 day old chicks every 2weeks and i also spend 50usd every two weeks on the feeds and water. I use the profits for reinvestment and for my food and transportation costs. I also do some home improvements.
I will use this loan to add more day old chicks to the farm. Each day old chick i buy at 3usd so this is like 4 of them but its a good start till i get more loans for more chicks. This will increase my sales by a margin and that's a good thing as the profits will be reinvested to grow the business. I expect the business to grow by twice the amount loaned to me by the end of every month.
