About Me

i am a kenyan living in Nairobi, i am a diploma graduate. i have been an employed banker for si years untili i ventured into business in the last two years.
i ventured into business because i felt that after six years of employment, waking upearly and coming back tothe house late,i had nothing valuable to show in terms of my savings. what motivated me to venture into business is the fact that during my banking years i would assist and advice my friends to apply for loans. Then iwould see them and their businesses grow from that loan, they would finish repaying it from the business proceeds and they would come back for larger amounts. this itself made me sit down and re think about my life and how i want to live it.
i am a farmer currently who supplies chickens to hotels in nairobi and also individuals. i intend to purchase more chicks with my loan proceeds and add them to my business.
i love travelling and making friends. during my free time i watch action movies and football. iam an ardent Arsenal fan.

My Business

I sellone day old chicks at $1 and a kienyeji egg at $ 0.5 A full grown kienyeji chicken goes for about $ 10 while the broilers/ ex layers go for $ 4 When you do your math, you realize that the kienyeji chicken is more profitable.
the business is highly profitable because in Nairobialone, the population consumes chickens at a very alarming rates, in cafes, in pubs and drinking joints and also at homes. The busines of chicken farming in terms of competition is the way to go since many Kenyans especially in the urban centres dont like farming so the marketis not saturated.
The cost of maintaining the business is expensive in termsof chicken feeds depending on the age at which the chicks are at. but roughly for every ten chickens in a scale of three months the cost of feeding them and labour is around $55 the sale of the ten brings $100 so thats almost 100% profit margin.
the greatest riskand challege in this business is different diseases that affect the chickens before maturity.
