About Me

My name is Carolyne Adhiambo an upcoming farmer in poultry business in Shamakhokho,Kakamega County in Western Kenya.
Just like every other business, poultry farming needs sufficient and proper funding. You need money to purchase a land for the farm, to construct and equip the farm and also to feed and provide health care for your birds.
Without proper funding, you will struggle to keep your business afloat, which is a challenge I am facing currently but with enough capital; business is made easier and that is why I am here at Zidisha hoping to access to cash because nothing kills a business faster than lack of money.

My Business

My business involves rearing poultry for egg production(layers) and for consumption(broilers).I have a ready market within Kakamega town where i supply both eggs and chicken meat to hotels and food parlors.

Loan Proposal

I need this loan because the price of poultry food is quite costly and birds consume a lot. For this reason I ration the food given to the birds and this affects the output. This utters the necessary nutrients the birds need in order to grow well, thus reducing their productivity.I also need to get more manual feeders and drinkers for the poultry to avoid congestion leading to some not being able to feed.

Income Source

Up until last week, most counties in Kenya were under lockdown, hotels and eatery were also closed fatally affecting my business. However our President Uhuru Kenyatta re-opened the economy this Monday and with that an increase in orders as the hotels i was supplying eggs and meat to have finally re-opened.This should make it easy for me to repay the loan.
