About Me

My name is Benjamin. I am presently living in Nairobi, Kenya. I am a trained accountant but have been working as an instructor at Bridge International Academies for 4 years now. I am married. 2 years ago, with a single laptop and printer, I ventured to start a printing service in my community, Maziwa estate. It was realistic in that the variable costs were on the lower side i.e rent was only 25 dollars a month, a figure I could easily raise since I had a job. The business crumbled mainly because other services required were unavailable and I did not have capital to inject into the project, I wish I had known Zidisha by then!
Early this year, I started a shop which is run by my wife. Customers are abundant as their demands and my core reason in applying for this loan is to satisfy them.

My Business

My business is a shop, simple retail shop. I mostly sell consumables oils soap and household goods. On a good day, I make sales upto 30 dollars. I am employed and so my wife attends the shop while I am at work. I chose a shop to curb demand in the community, I am an entrepreneur and finding distaste in services offered by shops around this area, I decided a shop that stands out in service delivery will not fail. I was not disappointed. My typical costs are quite minimal: Rent for both shop and residence 50 dollars, food 60 dollars electricity 2 dollars no school fees yet; my kids are still young.

Loan Proposal

Thank you lenders for the support you have accorded to me so far. I can proudly say that I have made steps in my entrepreneurial ventures ever since I began to work wit you guys.
With this new loan, I endeavor to put chicken in the kitchen pen that I was able to build thanks to a previous loan from Zidisha. The cost of chicken fluctuates between 3 to 4 dollars. I am planning to acquire at least 3 of them, one cock and two hens.
These I will keep in the pen. After sometime, I look forward to them breeding and producing eggs. Five eggs go for a dollar here and during the egg laying season, a chicken will at least lay one egg a day, and with two chicken, that adds up to two dollars every five days. I will also consider having them hatch chicks and this will increase the number of chicken by the time peak season, i.e December, is here, of which a single mature hen goes for 5 to 7 dollars.

I here withal request an adjustment to my loan repayment amount. The reason is because I encountered some financial flaws over the course of this month.
The chicken pen is complete save for the windows and door and will be complete in no time, and thereafter I will procure hens and put them in.

Thank you lenders, once again, for the loan.

You have almost paid off your loan. How is business? Do you think your customers would be interested in solar lamps / phone chargers?
