About Me

I was born thirty five years ago in Embu _ Kenya and lived in a village called blue-valley.Am now married with two kids. I work as a civil servant and i am also a partner in my wife's business of chicken rearing, which also happens to be an activity we both love taking part in.
I intend to one day on a restaurant that mainly serves chicken dishes, which will be a first in Embu, and i hope that Zidisha will get me there.

My Business

We (my wife and I) rear indigenous chicken breeds which are healthier to consume, require less financial capital and also fetch more in the market.
We would love for the business to grow and be more commercial where we can afford more capital to invest in other commercial breeds of chicken.
With a little more capital we can afford the first batch of broiler chicks which we will rear to maturity and later sell them as chicken meat. The proceeds of which will be reinvested.

Loan Proposal

This loan will help me buy 60 chicks which cost USD 0.55 (50 Kshs) each, totaling to USD33.14 (Kshs 3000). Using my saving i will rear the chicks to maturity and sell the locally at aprice of between USD 4.97 and USD 5.52 (Kshs 450 and Kshs 500). I will earn a gross of USD331.39 (Kshs 30,000) less the cost of feeds and miscellenious costs of USD 198.84 (Ksh 18,000) leaving me with a profit of approximately USD 132.56 (Kshs 12,000).
