About Me

My name is Benson Njuguna from Nairobi, Kenya and I am 33years old. I am the last born in a family of six children and I have a diploma in computer engineering and networking. After completing my diplomas in 2009, i searched for employment for about four years with no success. That is when i decided to try self employment by rearing chicken and that is what i have been doing since then.

My Business

I started with two chicken and after seven months,i had twenty two of them. Six months after that, fourteen of them started laying eggs. By February 2015,i was averaging forty five eggs per day and that was a tray and a half daily. My income monthly was about $90 after deducting all expenses. By the year 2018 I would average $250 monthly and i am able to support my family and livelihood. Today being the year 2020, I average $500 - $600 monthly after all expenses are deducted. I would like to further grow my business especially during this time ( covid- 19 ) when the demand for eggs is at an all time high. I am now the sole provider for my family and today being the year 2022, I am averaging $650-$750 monthly.

Project Proposal

I will use the funds to increase the amount of chicken feeds I give to my chicken especially the ones with one month old chicks to ensure proper growth and health.
