About Me

Hello, my name is Alice Ayayo. I come from the Migori County in the Republic of Kenya.

I currently live and work in Nairobi where I also engage in chicken farming. This is now my second year farming chicken. I mainly rear chicken for eggs, which i sell to a number of hotels. I also sell eggs to my neighbours, which also earns me good income.

My Business

I wish to take this opportunity to thank all lenders who have on three past occasions funded my loan applications. I appreciate you all. My chicken farming business has since expanded and improved. I can now pay my loans comfortably in good time.

My eyes are still set on my long-term goal of being one of the major egg producers in my locality. I will certainly not be able to realise this goal without continuing to expand my business. The first chicks that i bought have started to lay eggs and supply to local hotels and other establishments has increased steadily. It is for this reason that I want to expand my business further to meet demand for eggs that I know for sure will still grow.

I now wish to establish a second chicken house in which I will house another group of layers. This is with the aim of realising my long-term goal of being one of the major egg producers in my locality.

Loan Proposal

I am very proud that i joined Zidisha. I had only 20 chicken layers when i joined. The number of layers has since increased to 150, which was made possible by the first Zidisha loan that i received. The 130 additional chicks that i added have started laying eggs and i am now in a position to meet demand for eggs in my locality.

I plan to direct the whole of this loan amount to purchase of day-old chicks. I will be able to add about 80 chicks at the current market price of Kshs. 50.00
