About Me

My name is Benson Mwangi Wambui, born in Nyeri County, Kenya.
I attended school in Nyeri then later transferred to Nairobi.
After primary school, my parent had to work really hard to get me through my secondary education though it was very challenging for us.
I discovered my music talent in high school and got several events where they paid me some money to perform.
After high school I chose to use the little capital I had saved to start a small chicken business.
The business has been growing steadily and I have now recently opened a butchery. I am now able to support my mother pay her bills and also do some little shopping for her.

My Business

I started my business after high school in 2013 where I bought 10 chickens and started rearing them.
I did a lot of research and was able to care and manage them well and soon they started laying and hatching more chickens.
By December 2014 I had grown my chicken business to 400 and I started supplying to local hotels and butcheries.
The main challenge however was financing growth, however since I always read and research on my business venture. I was able to save what I got and in 2016 I opened a butchery which acts as my chicken deport and retail store.
I thank God for discovering ZIDISHA because since I joined, my business has changed for good, I am now able to get financing and flexible rates and repayments. My prayers is that the Almighty God bless each individual in this platform as you are doing excellent work in keeping dreams of young people like me alive.

Loan Proposal

Hello, am Benson, I run a butchery in Nairobi Kenya. I sell Beef and Chicken meat.
I recently got an order to supply 100 chickens to some hotels in Nairobi.
I will use the loan to purchase stock (100 chickens) and use the rest for transport.
I will buy one chicken at Ksh. 400 and sell at Ksh. 550.
100 chickens will cost Ksh.40,000
Transport from market to the hotels will be Ksh. 5,000
I expect a daily sales of Ksh. 55000 which equals to a total profit of Ksh. 10,000 daily. ( $100).
Looking forward to hear from you.
Thank You.
