My names are slyvian Omondi. I am the second born daughter of the late john Omondi and the late Esther Omondi. I am a tailor by profession . I went to ligega primary school and later joined sega girls , for secodary education, however i did not get a chance tocomplete my education because my parents passed on while I was in third year.
I dropped out of school at form three and stayed home for a year. I later registered for vocational training with a NGO that paid for my fees in Butula polytechnique where i trained as a tailor. I specialized on designing and cloth production.
After completing my training, I looked for a job with no success, I final got a job in Busia town, but it was really to tough. it involved working for several hours a day a and the payment were so little. I worked hard and saved as much as I could. I worked for two and bought my own sewing machine. I started working outside a
friends shop (in the verandah) but the municipal council come for me only a few days after launching my business. They wanted business permit or payments, i didn't have either and so they went with my machine. I had to take $50 loan from Shylock to pay off the council. I work had and paid off the Shylock and my business went on well. I have now rented a shop and my business is doing fairly well.
I like playing piano, dancing and singing when free. I also do social work which includes visiting the sick, orphans and street boys .
my job involves ,designing and production of cloths . I design cloths according to customers taste and preference. I always strive at producing good quality job as a strategy for retaining my current clients .
Designed cloths are on demand as most people prefer to wear what the can watch being processed and would obviously meet there taste and preferences . these makes the demand for my goods to go even higher.
I choose these business because I had been trained on the same ,the business is good and gives me my daily bread.
I spend $150 and make an average $350 every month.
I use my profits to take care of my siblings ,pay fees and save for purpose of business expansion.
I thank your lenders for your undying support you have always accorded me. My business is doing well and I appreciate . I wish to ask you to help me raise a loan for buying a commercial sewing machine that I would use to employ one more erson to assist me tackle the huge load of work as we head to December when the work is always too much .The machine will cost $150 . I would then stock my shop with latest fabric for $300 so that clients can choose from variety of materials. I would benefit through sale of materials and designing and make the dresses. I expect my revenues to increase by 50%. Thank you
