About Me

Am a dairy farmer as well as employed. Am 32 years old married with one child and am graduate. I am currently modernizing my farm to make it more profitable. I am from a noble village where mostly dairy farming is normally practised for substance purpose with low production hence I want to change the society by practicing zero grazing to as an example of how dairy farming can generate income. The project will require more money to be invested.

My Business

I am currently rearing Four dairy cows. Currently milking Two producing an average of 15 litres per day selling at ksh35. amounting to gross amount of 7,350 weekly and selling manure of 2 turns at 3000 weekly totaling to 10350 gross weekly, while the other two cows are 2 months to calving.
I am also employed earning a net amount of Ksh25,000 per month.
Am planning to change the cows to more yielding breads that will produce between 20 to 30 per cow. The project will therefore yield twice the amount.
Milk market in Kenya is large while land is available for planting folder.
Major cost involves feeds and labour.
Am currently using all the profits generated to expand, modernise and employing new technologies to cut cost.

Loan Proposal

Greetings Lenders,
With the previous loans proceeds from zidisha I managed to grow maize for silage making which is ready for harvesting and with the immediate loan bought a shaft cutter and started a zero grazing unit with silage silos where i will be storing the silage. The zero grazing unit and silos is half to completion hence am borrowing the fund to complete the project to enable me harvest and store the silage.
The specific purpose will be:
1. Purchase 20 bags of cement @ KSh700 each =14,000
2. Purchase 7 tonnes of sand @ ksh 18000
3. Pay labour for 7 days @ksh 2000 per day= 14000
Total cost will be ksh 48000 to be financed by the loan proceeds and my savings and July Sales

    Greetings,
Am very great full for the assistance so far. I managed to grow maize for silage making which is now in flowering stage. Am now preparing to make the silage in one month time when maize will be ready, therefore am applying fund for purpose of buying a shaft cutter instead of leasing as these will reduce the cost in future.
