About Me

My name is Edward Mwale born in Chipata in a family of six. We are a balanced gender three males and three females and i'm the fifth born. I did my primary education in Chipata eastern province of Zambia and my secondary education in Mazabuka Southern province. I completed my grade twelve in the year 2000 instead of 1995. This was due to the loss of my father who past on when i was still doing my junior secondary education.

After the death of my father i shifted from Eastern province to Southern province where i lived with my Aunt who promised to support my education but did not fulfill. I with struggle sourced some funds for my education and completed my grade twelve.

I started doing business after i completed my grade twelve and had little idea for business from the little money i realized from piece-works. After that, i got some experience from the happenings in the due process of my business until i got an employment where i accessed a loan which i used to register my business.

As stated above, i live in Southern Province of Zambia, Mazabuka in particular. Most of the land is covered by sugarcane fields as there is the biggest sugar manufacturing company in Africa. In terms of culture, the land is covered by Tonga speaking people.

I'm the father of three sons. The first born is 15 years old and second one is 11 years old and the third one is 4 years old. The first one wants to become a Mechanical Engineer, second one a Doctor and third one an Accountant.

My unique hobby or pastime is going to church and singing gospel songs.

My Business

I Edward Mwale of NRC no. 343680/74/1 am an Enterprenuer running a registered business under the name of EJOMWA GENERAL DEALERS. It was registered on 12th August,2011 under certificate no. 182398 with the Registration of Names Act and Patent and Companies Registration Agency, as law requires.

The company is involved in many activities including contractual jobs. Nevertheless, as much as contracts would become a challenge to find, the company also depends on the supply of food stuffs around the community as witnessed the attached photos. I trade in cooking oil.

As human beings, we are much in consumption of cooking oil as it is believed that it is nutritious to human body. Therefore, a lot of people use cooking oil to make most of their food stuffs delicious e.g relish and baking, hence high demand.

I chose to trade in food stuffs because it is something that human beings depend on for their living. It is therefore, a business that runs on daily basis because man cannot do without food stuffs. The other reason is that, it does not go bad.Thus, generates daily income.

My typical costs are ZMK1,000 per 100 lit res of cooking oil while ZMK1,762.5 as my revenue. I use the profits for reinvestment in growing the business, paying school fees for my children and of course, for home use.
My aim is to serve to the satisfaction and with accuracy even as we dream so big.

Loan Proposal

As described above, the principle reason for applying for the loan to Zidisha is to boost my business. As soon as i get the loan, i will straightaway go for more orders for cooking oil so as to increase in my supplies. This will help me grow my business bigger with more profits. The price per 100 litres of cooking oil is USD97.

The benefit to me will be:-
1. pay school fees for my children
2. pay house rentals
3. improve my general life style

Benefits to others will be:-
1.they will buy from nearby
2. they will buy in different quantities from smallest to the biggest

I expect my profit to increase by selling my goods in different quantities as this will carter for all the levels of people around the community. I will also have slightly lower price to seduce or attract customers so that i score more sales everyday that comes.
