Am a Kenyan lady from Vihiga County. I was born and brought up in Nairobi county and I have 5 siblings. I became a single mum and had to find a way to take care of my baby. Initially I borrowed Kshs 500, bought ingredients for making the multipurpose soap and and selling them in in small quantities of 500ml at Kshs 30. From the savings i made and my sister allowing me to use her house and her oven ,I started baking cup cakes. Our culture teaches us to support one another, its from this support that I managed to keep my small business afloat. My baby is only 3yrs old and is yet to go to school.
I love reading inspirational books and do participate in a lot of church activities.
My business is selling cupcakes. I personally bake the cup cakes pack them and go round from shop to shop( retail shops, and some small size supermarkets) and sell to them a packet of 6 cupcakes. Cupcakes are fast moving goods and are quite in demand where I stay. I choose this business because I saw the demand from mothers who buy these case for there children to take as snacks at school. My cost mainly consist of the ingredients which in a day can cost be 4,000. After successful sale of my packets I make atleast 7,000. Since I dont own an oven I use my sisters oven, so I do my baking at her house
I will buy and oven which can bake more that 200 cup cakes at on time. By buying the oven I will increase my suppy and meet the demand of cup cakes which am not able to meet now.
I expect to make a profit of 800 per week
