My name is Grace Wanjiru Gicharu and a resident of Mwariki estate of Nakuru county.am a single mother with five children who are in various secondary and primary school here in nakuru. After completing my primary education l was not lucky to join secondary school due to lack of school fees. this forced me to stay at home and help my mother with farming so as to provide for my siblings but after three years l got married and later we separated due to many challenges. l started the dairy farming business so as to earn a living and support my children.l normally use my income to pay school fees and develop myself economically.am also an active member of my local church.
Dairy farming business is very viable here in Nakuru.l started the business in the year 1999 with one local dairy cow but later l sold and bought three grades cows that produce an average of forty liters per day. This is because the grades cows produce more milk than local breeds and are easy to manage.the business is good as there is a lot of demand for milk here in Nakuru due to its many residents.l sell the milk at ks 30 per liter and this give me an average of ks 28,000 per month after deducting the expenses.there is no much risk associated with the cows as long as they are well taken care of.if advanced with the loan l plan to buy another dairy cow.
dear all, first l wish to thank everyone for the good job that you are doing.God bless everyone who work tirelessly to make our dreams come true.am a dairy farmer and l will use the loan advanced to me to buy another cow so as to increase the produce of the milk hence having more sales which will give me more profit.God bless you.
