About Me

my name is Monica Katheke and a resident of Lanet Estate that is off Nakuru -Nairobi highway that is next to barracks.l am a post graduate where l studied a human resource course and public relation in a local college here in Nakuru.l am a widower and a mother of one child who is in secondary school in here in town.l started my dairy farming business and selling of second hand clothes commonly known as Mitumba business three years ago so as to earn a living a living and be able to provide for my daughter in terms of school fees and other basic needs as well as develop myself economically. l engage myself in church project during my free time as well as spending my time with my family.l am enthusiastic and very passionate about my business as every day is a God given chance to me to learn new skills and improve my life as a whole.

My Business

The[ Mitumba]/selling of second hand clothes business is very viable profitable here in Nakuru as well as the dairy farming.l own one dairy cow that l milk ten liters of milk daily and retail the milk for ks 30 per liter in the estate.from this business l earn ks 7,000 as net profit and after deducting expenses such as feeds. The demand for fresh milk is very high here in town because the processed milk is very expensive compared to the fresh milk hence creating the demand.selling of second hand clothes has many challenges due to the many competitors who have ventured into the business as well as the high cost of buying the clothes due to high taxes by the government. However l make sure that my prices are pocket friendly and the clothes are of good quality. This enables me to make sales as well as a profit of ks 4,000 for every bale that l sell within a period of one week.if advanced with the loan l will buy another dairy cow so as to increase the milk produce hence more sales.

Loan Proposal

dear all, l am very grateful to the zidisha platform for giving me this opportunity to join the other entrepreneurs so that l can grow my business.Zidisha has helped many here in Nakuru and l will use the loan advanced to me to buy another dairy cow so that l can increase my income through the sales of milk.i will add the loan with my savings so that l can buy a good dairy cow that will enable me to pay school fees for my daughter in the future.l am happy to be given this life time opportunity and l am very positive that l will be to improve my life and for those around me.
