About Me

My name is Jane Wangui Muriuki and am a resident of Mwariki estate of Nakuru county.am married with five children all who are in various primary and secondary school here in Nakuru county.l was not able to complete my primary education due to lack of school fees and this made me venture into business where l started by selling second hands but after l got married l decided to venture into dairy farming since its more profitable.my husband is also a business person and we do use our income to pay school fees for our our children and develop ourselves economically.

My Business

Dairy farming and pourtly keeping is very a very p[profitable business here in Nakuru.l started the business in the year 1997 with a local breed cow but later sold the cow and up graded to grade cows since they are more economical to keep.l have four cows that l milk an average of forty liters of milk daily.l sell the milk to a local milk co-operative society here at ks 30 per liter. This enables me to make a profit of ks 30,000 on average after deducting all the expenses.the demand for milk is very high here due to the many residents of the town.by selling the milk to a society makes business good as there are no marketing expenses because the society collects the milk from the farmers.also there is no much risk as along as the cows are accorded properly care.also l do rear chicken mainly for eggs and buy the chicks from kenchick outlet.the business is good as l am able to sell thirty crates of eggs per month at ks 250the business is more profitable if you are able to keep more chicken.if advanced with the loan l will add more chicken hence expanding the business as the demand for eggs is very high here due to many hotels and school that are within the estate.
