About Me

I
am a married man mrs Susan blessed with five children three boys and
two girls. All boys have finished their secondary education.the two girls
are in a local primary school.i was born in 1953 at a place called Molo
in riftvalley province both of my parents are 90 years and above but my
father passed away recently.I learnt in a school called Furaha that was
in the year 1958 where i joined my primary education.in 1963 i
completed my primary level I was not enrolled in secondary school due to
lack of school fees.I moved from Molo to Kiptangwanyi in 1975 i am a
real resident of kiptangwanyi and i own plot number 711.I am practicing
farming and in this area and i also own a white pickup truck which i
have given my son to use for transportation. There after in 1986 where i
had practiced a business of butchery for 10years I had been in that
business but now i have employed some workers who run the butchery.I
have been one of the sinior leaders in this town in 1992 election i was
elected the county representative of this town.

My Business

I
started the business of dairy cattle in the year 2001.This was the time
that i discovered that dairy cows could help me to earn my familly's
living and educate my family.I am practicing dairy farming in my land
and i have two dairy cows but the cows does not produce the required
milk the grade of my dairies is not all that attractive.I am willing to
get a loan from zidisha so that it can help me to improve the grades of
my dairy cattle.I usually sell the milk to a company called Brookside
ltd.The company buys the milk in our village and then process the milk
into packets and packed at Nairobi.I earn at least from 10,000 to 13,000
and i am targeting more milk when i make an improvement of my dairy
cows.i usually plant sorghum and then grind it and pack the sorghum for
my dairy cattle.I have been also board of member in Muriricua secondary
schools and i am also one of the most respected leader in this
community.most of the people and the government officials comes and
collect some advices from me.

    Greetings Mr. Kirema,

Welcome to Zidisha. It is my honor to lend to such a respected leader. You must give good advice since they listen to you and vote for you. It is good you were able to retire from butchery. Butchery requires hard physical strength. After your parent's example, you have another 30 years to live! I think you must keep your body strong. My condolences on your father's death.

I hope you will be able to buy your hybrid cows soon. I think it is money well invested. Will one of them be named Zidisha? The pretty one?

Best wishes for health for you, Mrs Susan, and your children. May your cows stay healthy and produce much milk,

    Ann (namaste250)

    Dear lenders,

My name is Traci Yoshiyama and I am a Client Relationship Manager for Zidisha.

John and his family graciously welcomed me and another intern into his home a month or so back. We stayed with his family for a couple of days and their hospitality was more than we could have asked for. John also shared with me his big plans for the future, hoping to build a school for adults in the town of Kiptangwanyi. To see his passion was wonderful and I wish him all the best.

John, please tell your family I said hello. Thank your daughters for allowing me to share their room and steal their bed! They are very sweet. I am glad to see that you have joined the Zidisha community and I thank you once again for your hospitality and kindness.
