About Me

my name is miriam gathoni and resident of a Nakuru county.l was brought up in the bondeni estate of Nakuru that is a slum and being the first born in a family of seven members life was a struggle as my parents did odd jobs to provide for us.This made me drop out of school due to lack of school fees.l was employed as a house helper for some years and later started a omena (small fish)business but the business did not pick up due to its seasonality and this made me venture into cereal business up to day.l support my family with the income and am active member of my local church.

the food business is viable in this location due to the high population hence lot of demand for food. l normally stock all type of cereals like green grams, beans, rice ,kamande and other fresh food stuff. l buy my stock from wholesalers in town and re package the cereals into small quantities.This is because the doing business in a slum area the purchasing power of the residents is very low hence they buy items in small quantities. l normally make an average of ks 15,000 per month as profit after deducting the cost .this is because of the high turn over of the sales. though there is lot of competition due to wholesalers l always make sure that my prices are competitive hence retaining and attracting more customers.there is little risk associated with the cereals because they can last for long if properly stored.my goal is to ensure that my business grows so that l can be a wholesaler and supply the schools around the town with the cereals.If advanced with the loan l will be able to add stock to my business hence meeting the demand of my customers and l will be able to make more profit.

dear lenders am so greatful to zidisha plat form for giving me this chance to join lenders all over the world. with this first loan, am going to stock my cereal shop with at least one bag of beans. and then i will sell the beans and get a profit of at least thee dollors per day. in this case am planning to repay my loan in a very short time since my business needs a lot of stock.
