About Me

My name is Samuel Gikonyo kirichi I was born on 28 Feb. 1958 at kiambu in Kiambu County in pre independent Kenya I joined kigondu primary school which was 7 kilometer away from my home. I could not go far with my education due to lack of school fees. I want up to standard 6 since then I was employed as a casual laborer In various farms in western Kenya until with my little savings I was able to purchase a piece of land in gitare scheme in gilgil where I moved and settled with my immediate family I am married and blessed with 5 children who are all grownups.

My Business

My daily business is farming. I own a piece of land in Gitare scheme which is in the outskirts of gilgil town. I grow green vegetables, maize, beans asparagus etc apart from growing crops I also keep dairy cattle’s which produces milk for sell and domestic consumption. I deal with kind of farming when I realized there is great demand of these commodities in the near town of gilgil and beyond. I sell my crops at farm gate price to retailers from gilgil. For the milk I sell to olkarou dairies who normally correct it outside my farm every morning I receive the payments at the end of the month. Buyers prefer my farm produce because they are of high quality since I have been doing this for the rest of my life,I have enough skills to produce the same The only challenge I face is luck a modern cooler to preserve my produce before buyers arrive to collect them. With zidisha platform I will be able to overcome this challenge and hence improve my living standard.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders it is rainy season here in kenya and this is the best time for planting. i will now buy hybrid maize. cabbages and carrot seeds for planting this will give me high yields in produce for sell to the good market in the city of Nairobi. this will definitely give me more money and hence improve my living standard. i will also have a chance to buy a deep freezer to preserve my milk from going into waste during hot spells. i promise you to make a difference in my life. be blessed as you fill my bids.Thanks in anticipation.
