About Me

I live in Kiptangwanyi shopping center which is approximately 43km from Nakuru town. Nakuru town is our nearest major town within this area. I am married with three children. I live in plot number 102 at the shopping center where I carry out my business with my family. My business entails shoe making and repair at the shopping center. I sell all ready made shoes that range from men's wear to children's shoes.

My Business

My business entails shoe making and repair at the shopping center. I sell all ready made shoes that range from men's wear to children's shoes. The shoes that I sell , are those that I have made in my business premises. I also repair shoes at the same business premise. The main challenges that this business encounters are lack of finance to expand the business and to add more stock in my business. It is my hope that the loan that I will get from Zidisha will enable me to work well and improve the status of my business as well as increasing the income I get from the business.

Loan Proposal

Dear Lenders,
I would like to use my loan to add more stock of ready made shoes in my business. At this time the demand for shoes is very high since we are approaching the festive season that is Christmas. At this moment I usually sell a lot of shoes and therefore I would like to use this opportunity to improve my business. Ready made shoes are very marketable at this times and I therefore would like to to buy more and stock them in my business.

Why did Mr. Kariuki never pay and why did he stop communicating with us? Any feedback from Roberta, Ruth Muraya or his referring official would be interesting.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha.

Apologies for the lack of news regarding Mr Kariuki. We learnt that during the summer the stock in his shop was stolen and this generated some difficulties for him in the repayment process. We are now in cooperating with his Volunteer Mentor, Ruth Muraya and his referring official, to try to re-establish contact with him and devise the most appropriate solution to assist him with his loan repayment.

Please, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for your patience and best regards,

    Roberta
    Zidisha Volunteer

    Dear lenders,
I would like to reschedule my loan and request to be added some more two months. My business is not doing well at the moment. This time will enable me to plan myself and hoping that when I start repayment I will be consistent. I will also be able to put the profit that I have at the moment in the business and hope thamy revenues will increase.
