About Me

My full names are ESther Njeri. I am a married, businesswoman at Kiptangwanyi shopping center, forty six kilometers from Nakuru town. I was born in Muranga district where we stayed with my parents and family. At the age of six, we relocated to Nakuru District. In year 2000 we shifted to kiptangwanyi where my parents bought land. By this time I was through with my secondary education. I attended a college for three years where I did secretarial course for two years. I started my own business in the year 2004, at Kiptangwanyi shopping center. I and my husband and children live together at the shopping center and the business has been sustaining us. I live in my own piece of land which is plot number 946 at the shopping center. The business is a source of living and thus I am very hardworking and committed in ensuring that I give the best to my customers. Maintaining customers in the business is also a hard task but I always ensure that I keep my customers and also satisfying their needs to the fullest. There is high opportunity for raising the status of the business and thus hope that I will get the loan from Zidisha organization.

My Business

My business at the shopping center entails a fuel pump. I usually specialize in home use kerosene. This is a business that I started in 2004 and have been relying on it in many of my instances to cater for the needs of my family. I also use part of my revenues in educating my two kids who are in school. When I started the business, there was only bone fuel pump and the demand for this commodity was really high. Also in Kiptangwanyi at that time there was no electricity. Thus, this made the demand for this commodity to be very high as it was the main source of energy and again it was readily available and affordable. The price for kerosene has been shooting up and rarely does the trend go down. This has been attributed so much by the world crude oil prices. The main challenges that this business encounter are fluctuating world prices and also inadequate finance to expand the business as well as the worsening of the world economy. This has been a very serious problems and one has to be very hardworking in order to keep in the business.

Loan Proposal

Dear Lenders,
I would like to use this loan that I will get from Zidisha organization to buy a new electric kerosene pump. The one I am using is not functioning well and keeps on breaking now and then. This has always been reducing my revenues because it requires frequent servicing. Also the current pump is manual and thus it is not that effective. This will reduce my expenses and increase my revenues.
