I am a man aged 48 years old. I am married to Mrs. Linet Jumwa and with child called Liz Nyevu. My wife is the first born child for her parents. My business has enabled me to provide education for my child up to now. I am the seventh born of my family. I live at Timboni Village behind Kassim’s Mosque, Plot No.1 GXVI. I am a businessman. My education level is IV (Form 4). I started business because I wanted to be self-employed and also it was a chance in which I could employ other people. The earnings from my business enable me to live and provide house rent and for my business premises rent, pay for school fees and to buy more stock for my business after 3 day sales. The business also helps me with any maintenance costs for the premises and any personal issue that arise in the day to day dealings. I am also a committed businessman who has employed one bartender, one waitress and a security person and pay them on a monthly basis which I get from the profit that I earn from the business.
The Type of my business is a small pub/bar. Usually in my business, you could see; Beer, Wines and Spirits, Cigarettes, Soft drinks/sodas, small bites and chewing gums.
The demand of this service at my area is that; the area has a self-styled privacy. This makes the customers happier to visit my business when they compare of the loud music and too much hassle from other customers in the other areas. In the whole area of Watamu, we all have the so-called “KUSI” during the low season from April up to July every year. During this period, many businesses close down and those who will decide to continue doing their businesses, then they get a very low income from their business. My business is profitable because I manage to sell a number of beer crates per day then at the end of the month my profit is high.
My monthly typical costs are of water, electricity, rent, watchman, barmaids and very little in maintenance.
The loan I am asking from Zidisha will enable me to boost my business by adding stock in my business, purchasing 32” color TV set and install DSTV which will enable my customers watch football matches from the whole world. This will add the services at my business.
Dear Sir or Madam,
First, I would like to ask for your apologies for my late response in mailing and answering the text message that you had texted me.
When I get the loan I plan to expand my pub/bar and restaurant business by installation of DSTV, internet services whereby clients that are either eating or drinking would get to browse or surf the internet by WIFI connection and I would offer them free of charge service and to add more stock to my business so as to boost my sales. Also, I plan to set up a bigger hall for the football and movies shows by increasing the sitting chairs and increasing the sitting allowance for my clientele. Also, on the restaurant side I am planning to add more kitchenware, sufurias, cups, spoons, plates and the charcoal burner, stove and gas cooker and also the food stuffs.
My dear Zidisha Team, I would be very grateful if I get the loan as it would really help me with the day to day running and management of my life. To get the most out of my business I would also add more conducive and client friendly atmosphere where my pub would reach the high standards whereby I could host even parties both corporate and not corporate.
Finally, I really appreciate the support that you guys are offering us and I know if I get the loan I would never fail or disappoint you in any way being the installation repayment and clearing of the loan. Also I would recommend the services that you are giving people to my friends, other family members and clients in large. Thank you and hope to here from you soonest and just know you have all of my confidence and trust.
Yours Faithfully,
James Yaah.
