About Me

my name is Mary Waithera Kariuki and a resident of Naishi location of Nakuru county.am married with four children and l do business in Naishi market.having been brought up in the slopes of Mau forest life was not hard and making money from the farming business was very easy since the climate was very favorable.l watched my parents make money from the sales of farm produce but with the destruction of Mau forest everything changed because the rain wasn't enough anymore.this lead to lack of my school fees since this was their source of livelihood. For this reason l was married at tender age and with the support of my husband l opted to start selling of second hand shoes to earn a living.since then l have never turned back and support my family with the income l get from the business.

My Business

The business is very viable in this area because l stock men's leather shoes of all sizes and the competition is very little because of the locality in that its located in the interior part of Nakuru.l buy the stock in wholesale from the Nakuru town although the prices keep on changing due to changes of tax law on imported items that affect the business there is still demand because of the quality and durability of the shoes.l normally make an average of ks 15,000 as net profit after the deduction of the expenses.l normally have good sales during the opening of the schools because most parents do prefer the second hand shoes.if advanced the loan l will be able to add more stock to the business and meet the demand of my customers and especially during the month of may when the school will be re opening again.

Loan Proposal

dear zidish team, am happy that finally my loan has been proved.with this first loan, i will buy a good dairy feeds to my two cows, and since this amount is very little, am expecting to make my repayments as quick as possible.am planning to add more dairy cows so that i can get much more milk from my cow.thanks so much my lenders while contributing in fillings up my bids.

    Dear Lenders,

my name is Roberta Zenere and I am a Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha. Within this role, I am coordinating the Zidisha's MPESA team, responsible for processing loan repayments and disbursements.

Today, while reviewing our accounts, I noticed that the repayment of 23.11 USD (1,900 KES) posted on August, 14 in the repayment schedule of Ms Kariuki was entered by mistake. This means that, upon removal of the transaction, the amount that had been credited to your lender account will be reversed and will reduce your available balances accordingly.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please, let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Best regards,

    Roberta
    Zidisha Team

      Dear Ms Kariuki,

I'm glad to see that the loan has been disbursed to you on June, 21.
Apologies for the delay in disbursing your loan. This was due to a mismatch between your name and your M-Pesa number and, for security reasons, we couldn't proceed we the disbursement until that matter was resolved.

All the best to you and to your business now!

      Roberta,
      Zidisha Volunteer

PS: Thanks lenders for supporting Ms Kariuki and her projects!
