About Me

l am a resident of Nakuru county and live in Langalanga estate.am divorced after my marriage failed to work out. my four kids are all married and in business and l adopted a young boy who l take care of. l started the business 30 years ago after dropping out of school due to lack of school fees l engaged myself in business where l started selling assorted plastic utensils.Initially l would travel from one market to another and sell my goods there but after three years of doing mobile business l managed to get a premises in town where am situated up to date.l normally use my earnings to support the young boy by providing for him and also do re invest back to the business.

My Business

my business is located near molo line bus station.l normally sell assorted plastic utensils as the demand is high and being in Nakuru town where the population is high the business is good.l get the stock from Nairobi in wholesale and sell as a retailer. on a good month l make an average of ks 30,000 per month after deducting the expenses.this is because of high turnover of the business.no major risk and mainly my price is very competitive so as to retain the customers.if advanced with the loan l will add more stock to the business.

    Dear Zidisha Fraternity,
I have spoken to Alice Karanja today although she was too weak but she was happy to speak to me. She apologized that she had indeed taken long time to repay her zidisha loans in time due to issues that has happened to her life beyond her control.
Alice told me that the burial of her brother who has been sick for a long time now will be this Thursday, so Alice has promised me that she will try all possible to start repaying her loans next week after the brother’s burial so that she can again retain her trust to her zidisha community and lenders.
    Regards
    Vincent – VM Kenya

    Dear lenders and Zidisha team,
I have been severally been trying to reach Alice Karanja but have not been by any chance reaching her through the phone, Later I also noticed that her Community Leader Lydia Gakii that her phone contacts were not complete and therefore was able to contact her. Finally was able to reach Alice’s family member Hannah Wangui who was also happy to speak to me as I introduced myself that was calling on behalf of Zidisha and Alice has been defaulted to repay her loans. Hannah sadly explained to me that Alice Karanja has been going through hard times and at the moment she cannot make it to repay her loans, this because recently her daughter passed away and left behind two kids which has forced her to look after and also her brother son burial was last week and other 3 members of the family passed away which she is attending the funerals and as other the preparations are underway. Alice is at the moment even unable to use the phone and therefore will take her time to recover and resume her business.

    Regards

    Dear Mrs. Karanga,

More stock to satisfy your customers usually ends up in more sales. Hopefully, now they will buy more then one thing.

I am sure the boy is very lucky. Soon he too will be an adult. It happens so fast. Now that my daughter is an adult and lives far away, I sometimes wish I had a child in my home again.

Best wishes for the health of you and the boy and continued success in your business, Ann (namaste250)
