About Me

I am a native Kenyan citizen, born and raised in a third world country, face to face with all the shortcomings of it : Poverty, Poor Infrastructure, Hunger, Political instabilities, Under Development, Diseases, Corruption, Civil Wars just to mention a few. Born to two peasants who were casual labourers by then doing small casual jobs, they struggled to raise me together with two of my siblings and they have been through thick and thin to see us through school, I studied from elementary to tertiary thanks to government funds, NGO sponsorships and well wishers yet still it was not a walk in the park, am expected to pay back part of the Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) the cash they lended me for my campus fee as soon as I begin working. My desire is to own and run a stable business, I have a small one that is up and running but as they say the sky is the limit and am not even at the clouds yet,but nothing comes on a silver plata, I have to work for it, am not keen with being employed due to limited opportunities despite having well deserving certificates also I do not opt for employment due to its "enslaving" nature. A friend of mine categorically testified to me how Zidisha enabled him to grow and realise his goals and objectives and for sure it caught my attention and I said to myself, why not? I want to eradicate poverty off my shoulders and also save my family along and am quite optimistic Zidisha will be a part of this magnificent transformation. I want to grow bit by bit using this platform building a mutual relationship that at the end will bring up something beautiful, something to go down the history books.

My Business

I have an Mpesa shop accompanied with a few small add ups like sweets, credit and accessories, I need a loan to strengthen my capital base and solidify my business in the competitive market. The loan helps me buy small but fast moving and profitable products like sweets. I want to venture in three basic consumer goods that are ever on demand for both wholesale & retail, these are: Cooking oil, Cooking flour and Rice, these three always have a stable demand inspite and despite financial crisis at hand, and not only am I planning to start but also transport them to the door of my clients. For me to sale them at wholesale I will need to be buying them in bulk so that I can get a discount and this means more funding. I use the profits to invest more in the business since am single and not studying also have no responsibilities attached to anyone except myself. This will help me create job opportunities to the job seeking masses in my country.

Project Proposal

Addition of stock for my distribution of fast moving consumer goods like sugar, cooking oil, rice, sanitary pads, baby diapers as well as looking to hire mororbike for easier distribution of my goods.

The platform is charging me a huge credit risk fee almost half of what I have borrowed, its not helping much and am fully servicing the loan, frankly speaking the site is not that helpful, I have to outsource funds from other "fair" lenders.

Hello lenders, first things first thank you all for the undivided support on my just repaid loan, It really expanded my business boundaries as well as I have learnt a lot of business information in the retail and wholesale trades. With the loan I multiplied my stock and also spent on marketing and means of delivery to my clients, all went well up to a certain point I had to reduce my installment limit for two installments then I came back to normalcy after a small business inconvenience. But as per now I was able to get the cash back, I re-invested in the business three times before my time for repaying the loan elapsed and trust me it was worthwhile, as per now my clients have increased and I have a heavy burden of having to supply to them more goods and am not able to sustain due to limited funds. I am hereby applying to get another chance to withhold the state of my business and if possible progress it.
