About Me

I was born and bred in Navrongo in the Kasena-Nankana East Municipality in the Upper East region of this country. I attended Tono primary School during Basic level eduacation. From 2005 to 2008, I worked tirelessly at Tono Junior High School school to qualify to move on to the Senior High. I then went out of my region mainly because I wanted to see other parts of my nation which led me to the Upper West region which is where Nandom Boys SHS, comes in, my Senior High School. There I learnt that that small distance meant a whole lot of cultural differences. I graduated in 2012 and got admitted into University of Ghana that same year to offer BSc Computer Engineering where I still am. In Navrongo we love our smocks and Tuo Zaafi which is like the main meal. Living conditions are quite low but paying fees becomes difficult as you go up the educational ladder when you come from a large family with limited sources of income because most people are small scale farmer and petty traders. Schooling in Accra is a big challenge because the cost of living is high and everything is so expensive. Through the use of strict budgets, rationing and a lot of sacrifices I have been able to make it this far but thing are becoming increasingly difficult. I love playing volleyball though and trying hard to learn how to swim. Though I am from the north I own just one smock, the reason being they are now very expensive. Last year, I defered my course for a year because of financial hiccups. I took an Internship position at NCR Ghana as a Welfare Customer Engineering intern. This experience though not planned was amazing. I learnt a lot about the engineering corporate world, company structure and protocols, hands on learning of various systems and troubleshooting methods among others. It benefited me financially and enabled the paying of my fees. I was amazed and inspired and I am looking for to completing my degree and setting up a company of my own really soon.

My Business

I am still and have been investing my all, my time and energy into my education which I think is the best way to help me grow as a person and one day aid me in making me financially stable and in the starting of my dream business which is a Computer Software Development Company and well as a computer and related accessories retail and repair. I think such a venture would continually yield profit since computing is a growing and evolving industry whose demand would always grow. Right now I am concentrated on my education which at the moment requires capital for the payment of residential fees and the purchase of learning equipment and materials which the little drops of support from home is inadequate.

Loan Proposal

I want to use this loan to purchase electronics equipment like Arduino boards, kits and other accessories which I need to be able to do my first mini project which I intend to do on sensor networks. This is part of the requirements for graduation from the Computer Engineering Department of the School of Engineering Sciences of my University. The laptop which I am currently using too is old and has limited resources and I intend to boost it by acquiring more resources to fit into it to aid it do more work because I do not have enough resources to purchase a new and improved one. Resources like RAM chip and more storage. The ultimate Arduino Uno starter kit goes for about $56 on ebay and since there are no Arduino distributors in Ghana you have purchase them elsewhere and have it brought to you at an extra cost. 2GB RAM chips for laptops cost about $28. I intend to purchase the kit and its accessories first and then buy the computer resources later. I cant do my project without the materials and I currently do not know where I can get funds to purchase them. I am therefor appealing to lenders to help for this would go a very long way in helping me be more productive in my education.

Thank you very much to all my lenders. This money will be used in addition to my funds to pay for this semester's fees to kick start my final year in school which starts next week. Again I say thank you.

I have been able to get the tool kit and some of the books. I am low on funds for the mean time due to unforeseen expenses and would like to adjust my repayment amount.

Last Semester's project. Smart Waste Collection Bin. The set-up checks the level of waste in the bin and when full it automatically send its location in the form of GPS coordinates to the waste management authorities to enable them efficiently plan waste collection rounds to minimize cost and manage waste effectively. Thank You Zidisha and my lender melissapmeier for making this project of mine possible. Without your help I could not have bought the equipment needed to get this done.

I had to defer my education for a year because of many financial problems. My laptop got damaged and together with fees my financial needs grew. I took an intern position with NCR Ghana for the year and I am back to school now. I have paid my fees for this year, got a slightly used laptop and I am looking forward to get back on paying my loan regularly and soon. Thank You.

I first want to thank my lender for the immense help. The loan helped me get a place of residence on campus which has helped me so much in my academics this semester. I am now always on time to lectures because of my close proximity to the lecture halls and the loan also helped me partake in activities like field trips which has made my academic life so much better.

I feel I can afford to raise my commitment and it would not negatively affect my living on campus.

Things are going back to normal after my field trip and I think with my current financial status I can afford to repay more on my installments

No need to worry; it is good to take advantage of any opportunities that come your way ( like your field trip). Again, best wishes to you for your education!

I have incurred some unexpected expenses. The computer engineering department to which I belong has organised a field trip which involved payment of money and because of that I have run low on funds and will not be able to pay the full installment amount this week. I therefore want to adjust it just for the mean time.
