My name is Ann Embuka Kima. I am a 25 year old Kenyan. I'm a graduate in Computer Engineering from Moi University. Despite being born and raised in the rural parts of Kenya, I have managed to train and get tech savvy. I grew up with no electricity and i first saw a computer when i was 19years old when i enrolled for further studies. I put in long hours after classes just to be able to catch up with my peers. I learnt to create programmes and i had my first commercial software in the second year of campus. In my fourth year of campus, I had to drop out of school because of lack of school fees. I got a job that enabled me to save up enough money to clear my studies. I'm self drive, ambitious and very confident.
I believe through my experiences, I will encourage other young girls to strive for higher ambitions. That no girl should feel constricted because of where she has grown up. Your history doesn't determine your future. You can rewrite your story, any time.
I intend to create an online property portal. The website is www.eldospot.com and the website is currently under construction.
My mission: To create the largest real estate community of buyers, sellers, renters, brokers and developers.
Eldospot.com focus on joining property seekers with agents & brokers. We will list properties in residential and commercial sectors from accredited and compliant agents and brokerages. We provide buyers & renters with a comprehensive property search alongside tools and information – and provide real estate agents with the largest potential audience of house and land-hunters in the Rift Valley region.
Since I have a background in website and software development, I will be able to save costs in the software development. I intend to use the loan on an intensive marketing campaign.
The Rift Valley area in Kenya provides one of the biggest property boom in the Eldoret, yet there is no dedicated online portal to supplement the traditional property search methods. I intend to close this gap.
The website will provide free and paying ad listing depending on the needs of the client. The business will generate revenue from the adverts that will be on the website.
Marketing Plan Cost: Kshs 50,000
Expected Revenue: 1st month: Kshs 25,000
2nd month: Kshs 50,000
3rd month: Kshs 100,000
Business should break even after the third month of operation.
