About Me

My name is Sharon Olang, a mother of two children. My son is 8 years Old and in class 3 and a daughter who is nine 2yrs now. I am 34 years of age I am married and live in the rural areas of Kisumu now. I am the second born in a family of 7 siblings.I also do community development work supporting local organizations to take charge of their development needs.

My Business

I work as a project officer at a local community organization known as the Kenya Community Development foundation an organization that empowers local communities to take charge of their own development agenda. It is a full time employment. I joined the organization in 2017 April to date. I also do capacity building for local communities to mobilise different kinds of resources locally to implement their development projects.

Loan Proposal

I started a poultry project three months ago when our means of livelihood was affected by Covid 19 pandemic.I started a poultry keeping project with 20 birds and a vegetable garden.i have been selling some of the vegetables and using part of the profit to increase my poultry stock. So far i have 47 chicken
6 of the Chicken have started laying eggs and space will soon be a challenge.I also make an effort to increase the poultry stock by atleast 3 birds weekly.the number has reached 47 and i am targeting to have 100 by end of July. This means that the current poultry house will soon be congested.
I wish to use the loan to expand the poultry house to accomodate 100 birds and have a brooder for the birds that are laying eggs
Having more birds means better income when the birds are ready for sale and More eggs from the laying chicken, more fertilizer from the birds poop for the vegetable garden and better nutrition for my family.

Income Source

I have a vegetable garden, from the sale of vegetables i will be able to spare atleast kes 2500 to go towards repaying the loan.
I am drawing some income from the commhnity organization and can use the same to supplement the amount requored to repay the loan.
