About Me

I am a rural girl, having been born in the Machakos region of Kenya. I, however, currently reside in the bustling capital city of Nairobi where I am employed. I am married with two lovely boys. In my current post, I am a logistics officer for a beverages company, but on my off days I enjoy doing things with my hands and spending time with my family. I also enjoy the outdoors and love to travel when time allows.

My Business

I have dabbled in the making of custom, home-made carpets in the past with some measure of success. I have recently decided to shift focus to the making and selling of snacks. I have long had a passion for cooking. I enjoy trying out new recipes to cook meals for my family in my free time. I have also catered for my friends' parties in the past and received good feedback on the quality of food served. I intend to put these talents to good use in my new venture.

Loan Proposal

I usually produce my carpet on order basis since they are custom. The majority of my customers prefer to pay on collection which means I need to source funds to purchase material to make the required carpet. It often happens that I would be constrained when I have more than two orders to produce at the same time as my money is tied up with the current project.

I will use the proceeds of the loan to purchase more material (yarns, needles, plastic mats) for my business so that I am able to service more orders simultaneously thus expand my business.

Hello, I've spoken to Caroline, she says she's facing tough economic times at the moment due to loss of her job. I've encouraged her to try and repay whatever amount she has so as to clear the balance.

I was able to purchase the additional deep fryer as intimated in my application. As a result, business volumes have increased significantly. With the added revenue, i have been able to expand product lines to include fried chicken and kebabs.

With my last loan, I was able to purchase stock for my snack business - flour, cooking oil and potatoes. The business has really taken off. I have found that the item that brings in the most income is fries / potato crisps but i am working to introduce new products that will be winners as well.
