About Me

I am a 25 year old boy born in the year 1994 at yaganek village in Sotik district Bomet county. Did my K.C.P.E in the year 2009 and joined form one where i passed through many challenges of lack of school fees since my brothers and sisters were also in school and needed money for their fees, severally i was being sent home which affected my studies but thanks to God i passed through my hardwork. After my K.C.S.E I stayed at home helping my parents in the farm work where i learnt that farming earns alot, so i requested a piece of land from my father to plant my own crops where he did unquestionably due to the work they saw in me. l involved in planting indigenous crops such as the spider plant and other vegetables like carrots which did well. l joined Egerton University to pursue teaching as my career but the challenge of fee still accompanied me but my savings from my farm project help me and was able to join campus. To continue with my farm project i went home each weekend to monitor the work being done through the funding from a fund i requested from my uncle. The project deed well and my father added me one and a half hecta piece of land to manage. The earnings from the farm paid my fees and abit of my sipplings but saving a little each month. This will help me make my children to be successful in life and be able not to face challenges in paying there fees since I dont want them to pass through what I passed. Now i am at my final year without the challenge of fee.God has done great things.

My Business

my business is what i refer to as KILIMO BIASHARA since farming is where i get my daily bread. Planting crops such as cabbages, sukuma wiki, carrots, spinach and some indigenous crops has earned me a minimum of ksh12000 per week which i see as an improvement from ksh1500 per week at the start. I sell my crops locally to local retailers.More so I have engaged in banana farming the tissue cultured variety where I have planted a one hecta plantation and planning to increase the plantation with time. This has done well and have been given a tender to supply 3 crates each week by a school in my neighbourhood which I see as Gods blessing. This has improved my weekly income ranging from ksh12000 to ksh15000. In general zidisha has helped me a lot grow economically.

Loan Proposal

Would like to buy organic manure to use in my banana plantation. This manure is intended to improve the banana yield in terms of fruit size so as to attract more customers during sale. Also the manure will assist in preventing certain banana diseases brought by soil.
