I was born in Garisaa County, which is known for its extremely difficult conditions and high levels of solar damage. I come from a Muslim polygamous home where men are portrayed as the community's face. My journey began when I was young and was taught how to shoot with an AK-47. The training was meant to be the beginning of my career as a cattle handler. I continued my official schooling up until the last class, at which point I stopped and concentrated on the cattle business. One hundred cattle, including camels, donkeys, lambs, and cows, were given to me by my father. I paid for my dowry with 50 cattle, and the remaining 50 are currently giving birth and providing me with money.
Selling cattle is the focus of my business, which has proven successful. I've been able to support my family and parents thanks to the business. This industry has a number of difficulties, including a lack of grass, thieves who steal cattle herds, and drought. My primary strategy is to look for funding from lenders who will assist me so that I can purchase ready hay from another county, add some animals, and increase my business's profitability while also instructing other community members on how to care for their cattle during this drought.
