About Me

i am Edward Kevogo born in 1980 in vihiga county and a diploma in community development but lives Nairobi. i have a strong heart in small scale farming especially in horticulture .Although this farming hasn’t really picked up very well in my home place like other parts of my country, a few entrepreneurs are already enjoying the lucrative benefits of this enterprise especially where i have located. i came to overcome my hardship after getting some funds from my attachment on completion of my diploma course.the business turns positively to me because its a commodity that are used in dairy basis for human consumption. most of my supplies i make to some hotels and markets where they are sold in bulky for small marketers within the slums and estates.am happy even to be supported by my family members by even advice and they all turns positively even my children making me to fell that am doing the right business.

My Business

My business of farming has most commodities such as cabbages, kale's and tomatoes which i do sell and farm in my small piece of land. these commodities that i sell are all useful and in demand for human consumption in dairy basis. i choose this type of business because its a must for all human beings to eat and so far no any day my sale can be negative especially in my supply in hotels. the profit i make usually caters for my family needs and to by some seeds and fertilizes for the next season and am happy for these improvements.

Loan Proposal

If i successfully get the requested amount, I intend to use the money to purchase planting implements which will include organic fertilizer, seeds and seedlings. The money will also assist me in the preparation of the land where the seedlings will be planted.

Thanks mr. Pete. Currently it is still dry but we are preparing to receive long rains in the month of March. However my crops are doing well and this is my best time. With the current promising situation and God willing, i intend to also venture in tree planting(blue gum) during the coming long rains as trees fetch good returns although it takes long before harvest

Good morning Pete. I am fine here in Kenya. Just wish to inform you that next month i will widen my farming to include tree farming (eucalyptus) species. Already rented a 3/4 acres of land in Kakamega county for that purpose. Have a good day

Thanks Edward, for the note...you can just call me Pete...although I am much older than you, I am young at heart and interested in helping folks who are interested in helping themselves. You certainly seem to fit that description!
I was fortunate to have many advantages in my life, where I was born, very caring and generous parents, a great time in the history of America, etc....however, like you, I always looked for opportunities to do better and to be helpful to people who are interested in helping themselves.
Our Creator expects nothing less from us. Your dreams can be fulfilled as long as you always continue to reach out for the next "too hard" opportunity and thereby build the confidence to realize there is nothing you cannot achieve with prayer, study and determination.......thanks again for your update. Pete.

Edward, I just saw the pictures of your garden. Your work looks very neat. The field looks very good and the cabbage looks as good or better than I have seen anywhere, tell me about the irrigation of the plants, how do they get enough water to be looking so healthy? Keep up the great work.....Pete.
