About Me

I am Abigail, born in a family of 5. I finished my fourth form in the year 2006. Thereafter, I did a certificate in business management. Due to lack of fees, I could not continue [with my schooling] since my other young brother and sister were still in secondary school.

Currently, I am married with two children. Despite the fact that my husband is a civil servant, his salary could not cater for every need in our family. That is when I decided to engage in farming and mainly dairy farming.

My dairy project was affected seriously over the last two years by the drought, since Rongai (Nakuru) is normally very dry in the first 3 months of the year. Over the December holiday, I relocated to my new land of 1 acre, where I am sure all will go well.

My Business

My vision for my new land is to start planting tomatoes on my land, since the place has plenty of water; therefore irrigation will be very easy for me. The place is good for this plant and does well. I intend to start this project in the middle of this month after the preparation of the land, buying of seeds and fertilizer for the same. Out of my savings of Ksh. 15,000, my husband encouraged me to venture into this project and promised me his support. My budget ranges from Ksh. 30,000-40,000 on the higher side, which will be okay to cater for the herbicides and any miscellaneous [expenses].

I wish to therefore venture into this project seriously, and I am sure I will be able to pay my loan without any difficulty, since I already have a ready market for the same.

Loan Proposal

Having already built a shade for my dairy cows, I intend to buy one because I already have another one. From my tomato farm I managed to save US D 49,709 after paying for my two children's school fees and reinvesting also in the farm. My budget for a dairy cow who is 5 months pregnant is USD 63,266. I have already paid a deposit of USD 18,076 and I intend to pay the rest on the 10th of August 2015, as per the agreement I made with the seller.

From this I am sure I will reap good profits, because I will supply my milk to a nearby primary school at USD 45 per litre. From the history of the cow I am buying, the owner informs me that she normally milks 30-40 litres in a day.

Your loan will highly boost my dream coming true. You have made me a different person altogether.
