About Me

I am a young man from Kajiado full of passion to make it in the world of business. its very evident in our country unemployment is very high and therefore youths and every kenyan is encouraged to think beyond white colar jobs and instead engage in income generating activities.
After so many days wasted on the hustle to look for an office job an idea struck me and I have not looked back since.
being a resident of a pastoralism community, I discovered there was an opportunity in fresh food stuffs from the shamba and supply to the traders within kajiado county especially Kitengela, Isinya, Bisil and Athi river.
The earnings I generate from my business I use it to increase my stock and hence supply to more customers.
I also use the earnings to do small scale farmings which goes along way to supplement my business.

My Business

The source of income comes from the sales made when I supply to the market traders and also through the earnings I get from my small scale farming,
As I had mentioned earlier I come from a pastoralist area and up to now the people have not embraced farming and therefore depend on food supplies from other parts of the country. This is where I seem to fill the gap. The demand for foodstuff is all time high especially fresh produce since the area is semi arid.
My customers which comprise of market traders prefer my goods since I am reliable and always supply fresh stuff straight from the farm and sometimes my own farm produce.
However there has been a limitation since am not able to satisfy the potential due to lack of enough capital. The issue of risks comes when the rain comes it’s a bit challenging to get the supplies from the farms because of floods but due to the new form of county government, this is likely to be addressed and solved.
Monthly sales Analysis
Sales 80000
Cost of sales (40000)
Operation expenses(10000)
Profit 30000
This sales could however go up if I was to get more finance which will translate to increased profit margins.
This in doubt will enable me to repay the loan without any problem

Loan Proposal

Having been in the supply business I intend to increase customer base by getting more traders to give me orders.
to make sure that I maintain consistency in supplies I will increase my farming back in the village to make sure I get most of the vegetables from my shamba.
the KSH. 12,000 will be used as follows
Land tilling 1200
seeds 2000
pesticides 2000
weeding 2000
Transport 754
purchase more stock 4800

by doing this I will be better placed to earn more and enhance better growth.

Thank you zidisha family for the continuous suppory you have given me in my business.
I would like to to request for loan reschedule due to financial constraints. At the moment I am not able to pay as per the earlier stated amounts. Once I get back to the normal operations I intend to go bamck to the initial amount so as to enhance our cordial relationship.

    Hello Lenders
the year 2014 was a bit challenging business wise and things would have been extremely difficult without zidisha lenders who have been there for me and my humble business.
I am happy to report that I was able to establish a small gunny sacks garden where I grow some vegetables and able to sell direct to my customers.
I look forward to work with you in a better relationship so as to create a greater positive impact in my finances.

    Thank you

I am a VM. Inviting new members to Zidisha helps this community grow fast. I believe you wish to contribute to the future of Zidisha. Imagine some people have never heard of zidisha and you are the best person to get the message to them. I see you're good at repayments here so you must know equally honest people near you. Spread the word, Alyse!

      Alyse,

I am a lender on Zidisha so I would like to give you my perspective. I agree with Mr. Shehi that it is ideal for Zidisha to grow, but it has to grow carefully.

Inviting people just for the sake of inviting them is not necessarily a good thing. I would only invite those people that I know well enough and know that they are serious about their commitments. I would choose someone who I know has a serious, legitimate business and make it very clear to them that a loan taken out through Zidisha does indeed need to be paid back.

I'm sorry if I sound callous here, but I have personally come across a few borrowers who have lied about the existence of their businesses. I have also seen several new members being invited by the same person and I do not lend to those because, in my opinion, there is no way the inviter knows all those people personally. It does not mean that those invited by this member are not trustworthy, but it becomes impossible for me to tell them apart.

I hope this helps to clarify a bit how many lenders view the inviting process.

    Dear Zidisha
Allow me to first of all apologize to you all for not paying on time. this was caused by factors beyond my control and could not be able to remit weekly payments. I have not been trading for the last two weeks and financial burden have weighed me down.
The good news is I am resuming the market tomorrow and I will now resume payments though a lower amount for now. When business go back to norm I will return to the earlier arrangements.

Thank you all for your understanding

    Eric
