About Me

I am Ernest Mulenga, am a man aged 38 years and I am based in Kabwe, Zambia. I was born from a family of 3 and I am the first born. I was born in a rural area both my parents were peasant farmers. I finished my grade12 and went to college to become a teacher for early childhood education. I love teaching kids and I also like doing business right I operate a farm shop. I am married I have 2 kids one boy and one girl. When they grown up they want to run businesses

My Business

I lost my job early this year when corona virus started. I was working for a private and now because children were at home and schools had been closed it meant that parents were not paying and since the school was surviving mainly on tuition fees the school had to be closed and I faced a challenge. Knowing where I grew up that farmers need agriculture supplies I decided to open my own agriculture shop where I sell inputs required for agriculture production such as fertilisers, insecticides and many more. This business has potential to grow and has demand so with loan from zidisha I will raise my capital. Right now I face challenges of transport when buying these inputs because I get form a place which is about 140km away.

Loan Proposal

When am given a loan by zidisha I plan to add to my capital and buy more agriculture inputs for my farm shop. There is a lot of potential for this business to grow all I need is to inject more money.Sometimes I run out of stock and close the shop until I restock my shop. Since my capital will increase am positive that my profit will also increase by a good margin. And the profit I make from this business I will buy food at home and also inject more in my business so that it can expand. I am very happy to know about zidisha.

Income Source

I am aware that sometimes economic challenges are there but am sure that my business will not suffer because people need food and therefore agriculture activity should continue. Because even during this period of corona virus when things have been tough my business has continued to be okay. Also on the other hand I am a trained teacher and during school holidays I teach school children at a fee. When the parents pay I can still manage to repay my loan. Thank you in advance.
