My name is Jane Kerubo Momanyi from Kaptembwo in Nakuru- outskirts of Nakuru town. I am 34 years old and married to David Momanyi and blessed with three children; Brenda, Kenneth and Victor aged 8, 3 and 1 year respectively.
Due to financial challenge, I could not study beyond form four and life has not been easy.
I am a full time farmer growing mainly maize and vegetables for consumption and sale.
My hobbies are watching TV and visiting friends and family
I am a full time farmer producing vegetables and maize. Our farm is located in Baruti village just after Kaptembwo estate and few metres from Technology farm. I harvest vegetable almost throughout the year while I plant maize only once in a year. Vegetable is the best earner and maize is mostly for home consumption.
I have kales in the nursery due for transplanting in few days time while I am also planning to establish another nursery for cabbages mid this month.
In my vegetable production, I always try to maintain the cycle by producing throughout the year. Currently I am planning to transplant kales that are due in the nursery as well as establish a nursery for cabbages.
I am therefore planning to use the loan on fertilizer ($50) and seeds ($37). The $100 loan will help me plant early before the short rains end.
The income from sales will enable me pay back he loan with ease.
