Im youngman who was brought up in afamily that only depended on small farm for survival, my mother was ahousewife and sold some vegetables from the farm to get money for farmily upkeep, i and my 2 brothers could work for people in their farms during school holidays and get some extra coins for our cloths, life was that way until i finished my secondary education when i went to nairobi, since i had no skills icould nt secure abetter job, idid construction(mjengo) for sometime and saved some money which i bought asecond hand motorbike and started taxi, i saved some cash and i have recently started vegetable farming apasion i developed frm helping my mum onthe farm, besides motorbike taxi and vegetable i keep local chicken. im maried to Jane, we have 3kids vallary, lesley and ashley, they would like to be adoctor, ateacher and engineer respectively, i like playing football during my free time,and reading spiritual books.
i plant and sell vegetables thouth on small scale,i also do local paultry farming for eggs and chicken, sometimes i do (bodaboda) motobike taxi, mostly i use the money i get to pay schoolfees for my kids and by food, i chose vegetable bcose it has ready market, and i plant corn, for its astable food in our locality hence having aready market, maize farming is not hard to manage hence alowing me some time to atend to other comitments, during summer vegetables are on high demand since most people dont do irrigation farming which i do hence giving more profits, one harvest can give me aprofit of 25dollars and im hoping to increase next year for im going to rent some land from the proceeds of last season for growng more crops.
I will use the loan to buy D.A.P and C.A.N, Fertilizer for 1st and 2nd top dressing, D.A.P costs 1dolla per kilogram and C.A.N slightly cheaper like 0.75 dollas per kilogram, i will need 12 kilos D.A.P, &12 kilos C.A.N, which will cost 12 dollars D.A.P, & 9 dollas C.A.N totaling 21 dollas. I expect to increase my maize produce frm 7bags i got last season to 11bags, for i will enough fertilizer for my aquoter acre farm,
