About Me

My name is Ann Chebet , I live in Nakuru , where I run a cosmetic business. I do it part time as am also a student pursuing a business administration course at Kenya Institute of Management. I am in my second year of study.
I come from a family of three, two ladies and my brother. Both are working and living their own life. Both my parents are also a live living at Ravine .I live in London Estate , its located on the northern part of Nakuru town, near the Kenya Prison Service , main headquarter.
I love doing business having been introduced to it by my parents when I was a young girl, also I have always wanted to be independent financially and be my own boss. This is the opportunity for me to do so. The business is still young, having started it six months age. Though I have been able to purchase some household items from its proceeds.
I want to go the next step in my business , to expand and start competing with the big boys and girls .

My Business

I run this business as a sole proprietor, though I have employed a lady who is running it on a daily basis. I usually pop in every day in the evening to check on the progress .I deal in cosmetics and ladies clothing and shoes. Ladies are always keen to look beautiful and smart, hence the need for me to start this business.
Women have always been good customers, since my shop is located in a town , I get many ladies who are keen to come and purchase my products. I have many customers as I stock some of the latest fashion dress , clothes , shoes and cosmetics, further my prices are very competitive .my assistant in the shop is very friendly , this really attracts customers to my shop.
So far the business has been making a small profits since I lack enough stock for my customers. The only major risk in the business is the stiff competition am getting from the other business dealing in the same goods.
My monthly revenue having paid the monthly bills stands at around 35,000 Kenya shillings , though the figure fluctuates slightly upwards or below .I will use the loan to restock goods into my business , I intend to use the profits to repay my loan.
